What can I do for you
Tim is an experienced family lawyer and mediator (finances and children) who advises on the full range of issues arising out of family and relationship breakdown. This includes financial settlements, children matters, and pre-nuptial agreements.
Tim leads our one lawyer two client offering known as “separate well with one lawyer” and has developed in depth experience advising two clients together.
Tim has particular expertise in nuptial agreements, unmarried couples and cases involving farms, sportspeople, family businesses, trusts, or an international element.
Supporting your ambitions
Tim understands that each case is unique and requires a personalised solution. He works hard to understand the client's specific circumstances and priorities to ensure that the agreed approach is tailored to meet their aims and objectives.
Tim specialises in cases involving farming families, equine and agri-business and issues surrounding non-marital assets.
A client recently commented: "No one ever wants to be in desperate need of a family lawyer - but when that does happen, you want a family lawyer (and a firm) who is adept at actively listening, has appropriate empathy and care for your unique situation, who is going to try and get a resolution as soon as practicable. This is exactly the approach Tim took in my case, and it was central to the great outcome and results we ultimately achieved."
What do others say
Tim has been ranked in Chamber and Partners and Legal 500 for a number of years both as a lawyer in Finance High Net Worth and as a mediator.
The latest professional rankings included the following feedback from clients and fellow professionals; "Tim Whitney is outstanding. He has a dry sense of humour that puts clients and opponents at their ease. He is comfortable with all types of case - businesses, trusts and more straightforward cases. He will encourage and facilitate non court based resolution but is able to litigate powerfully if necessary. A star."
As a mediator Tim is described as "the cream of the crop. He handles the most tricky of cases calmly and with gentle authority."
What else should you know
